Model Haiku’s Automated Menus

Since in Haiku there is the integrated package management system and the virtualized directory structure of the menu, it is no longer possible, as in previous versions, to adapt the program menu in a simple way. This menu after installing multiple applications is very confusing.

This tutorial is about a bug in haiku that leads to having a black screen for a few minutes before the boot icons appear.

The problem is due to the fact that package installation and de-installation activities are recorded for a property of the package management system. This system allows you to boot an older version of the system from the boot menu to fix a problematic installation.

But as the number of versions registered above a certain value increases, the system takes longer to check the elements. This becomes apparent as the boot time increases before the boot symbols appear.

Registered items are stored in / boot/system/packages/administrative. If you delete this folder the boot process will take a normal time again. The only problem is that it will no longer be possible to recover an older version of the system.
